As an Industrial Technology teacher at Fremont Middle School, Doug Doescher used the Foundation’s Creative Teaching grant for purchase of six copies of Coreldraw 7 software, which enables creation of files for our laser engraver. Read his summary and see pictures below:
This software is the most commonly used program nationwide, allowing students to access numerous tutorials to assist them in figuring out the many tools used in this software. With the grant allowing purchase of this software, classes are now able to create extremely precise drawings, as well as create & import graphics to improve the quality of their products. Students are now measuring to the nearest 1/1000th of an inch, rather than using rulers and being limited to the nearest 1/16th of an inch. In the future, Doug hopes to utilize this grant to assist in purchasing additional updates necessary to keep up with the technologies as they evolve.
